Twilight Fashion – Twilight Jacket

I know it’s way too early to think about jackets at this time of the year in Vegas, but I can’t help to falling in love with this jacket. Not only because that’s what Bella wear in the movie Twilight and getting cozy with Edward, I also love the color and all the handy pockets.

Doesn’t Belly look so cute in this jacket?

Even Cuter with Edward!

It will make a nice outerwear for the mild winter here. The only thing I don’t like it is that you can’t wear blue denim with this. What do you think? Blue on blue is just too much. Do you know any cute Twilight fashion? Please share with us.

P.S. Can’t wait till New Moon to come out; apparently it’s way better than Twilight!

Elizabeth & John (Engagement Party)

Chase recently got a chance to shoot an engagement party of wedding I'm shooting this fall, the highly energetic Elizabeth and John. The wedding is going to be crazy...and I can't wait.
Here is one of my favorite photographs that Chase captured that night.

Shot on a Rollei with Ilford BW 3200.

Don’t Do This to Me

9:52p.m., July 29th, 2009

99 Fahrenheit – out side, Las Vegas, Nevada

89 Fahrenheit – inside of my house

--------------- a/c DOWN ---------------

I’m sitting in front of the computer, sweating. All the fans are on high, and I’m trying to calm my heard down, so I feel cooler, but I’m still sweating, like a pig.

My make up is all melted, there’s not a single outfit I can think of to make me feel cooler. My hair is all sticky, and I seriously can’t think of anything fashionable at this moment. This is the second day our air conditioning down. I can’t say that I’m coping with it very well. It makes me has no patient, no inspiration, and no motivation. I’m feeling very bad for my child who has to deal with me in this situation. I don’t know how people back in the days use to do it. We are so spoiled now.

Sitting in front of the computer sure doesn’t cool me down, in fact, I feel even hotter from the heat that is coming out from the PC.

Repair guy, please come to our house and have it fixed tomorrow. So I can be a good mother and wife again. Thank you!

HOT!!!!! Errrrr……

Kasey & David (Rehearsal)

Last month we had a chance to do an amazing wedding in California with famed wedding planner Mindy Weiss. We shot for 3 full days and produced some of my favorite work! We will likely have more posts on this event when it goes live, but for now here are a few photographs from the wedding rehearsal. I rarely shoot rehearsal (often times I'm only shooting the dinner) but got some fun shots while shooting it!

For any photo geeks out there, the top photograph is shot on a Rolleiflex with Kodak's 400NC film (which I rate at 200 for extra saturation and exposure) and the bottom photo is taken with my trusty Lomo LC-A with Kodak's BW 400 CN. Is that helpful? Are photographers out in internet-land interested in what I'm shooting with and how I'm shooting it? If so, I can try and provide this info more often!

Branden & Lindsey Polaroids!

This weekend I had the opportunity to shoot the wedding of A Bryan Photo's very own Branden Lower (the mastermind behind all of our 8mm films). The wedding was so touching and his bride Lindsey was absolutely stunning! We had the chance to set up another polaroid portrait studio. Below is a quick preview of a few faves.

Branden, lookin' fly

Chase and Amy!

Branden and Me.

Josh and Laura looking confused

I turned my strobe around to the dance floor and grabbed a shot of the garter toss on Polaroid. I love how it came out!

More to come from this wedding!

Beauty Product I can’t Live Without – Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil

I have very very light brows that are barely there. I never knew how to make them look, crayon pencils make them look way too strong, and powers make them look flat. Until, a lady from Nordstrom recommended me Anastasia’s Perfect Brow Pencil.

Perfect Brow Pencil

You use one end pencil in smoothly, and then use the brush end magically lift the color on to your own brow hair. That’s what it seems like to me. It looks so natural, just like your own.

I have been using this brow pencil every single day for the last two and half years, and finally finished it, and I meant the last bit of it. I have never used any make up stuff to it’s end. This brow pencil certainly served me well.

I didn’t make it to the store for almost a week after this brow pencil died, I felt so naked the whole time. I didn’t even want to look at myself in the mirror. Now, I’m finally happy again, I have good looking, visible, face lifting, glowing eye brows again. YAY!

Oh, just so everyone knows, Nordstrom no longer carries Anastasia for some reason, which I don’t understand. Everyone loves her products. Now, you have to go to Sephora.

What is that one thing you can’t live without? Share with us please.

Portrait Studio with Lomo (For Laura & Todd)

One offering we love to provide at a wedding reception is our portrait studio. Its value is that it provides the bride and groom photos of their guests without the images being staged and stifled. We traditionally use a digital camera to capture these images but we have recently mixed it up.

At Josh & Laura's wedding we set up a Polaroid portrait studio:

For Laura and Todd I decided to capture some of the images by strobing my LOMO:

Here's a few I snapped of my assistant/brother Phil. These were taken before I got the strobe working, but I really like the blur:

Thoughts? Any suggestions for other ways you would like to see us shoot portrait studio?

Awesome Jewelry Site

Do you guys love cute and affordable jewelry? I know I do. Every time I go back to China to visit, I couldn’t stop shopping for jewelry. I seriously spent all day in a jewelry mall (a huge building that is dedicated to selling jewelry). They add so much to your outfit, and make your personality shine.

Now I know I don’t have to go to China to shop from an extensive selection jewelry that is very affordable. I can just go to alltherageonline.com. There are seriously so much to choose from. From the best to the latest, you can sure find a bunch of stuff you LOVE.

A few things that on my wish list …

Free shipping is offered for orders that are over $75. I don’t think it’s very hard to find enough stuff you like to quality.

Wedding Family Formals

I used to hate taking family formals at weddings until I learned that I could move around and find special moments between the posed shots. These are the real family photos that I would want to see if I could hire myself. The photos where everyone is standing nice and straight still have a purpose but I want to see true personality.

What are your thoughts? What images make a family formal session successful?
